The synthesis, characterisation and catalytic behaviour of ruthenium indenylidene complexes bearing an A-heterocyclic carbene and triisopropylphosphite are described.rnSince the last decade, olefin metathesis has become one of the most useful tools in organic chemistry. Since the initial reports of ruthenium alkylidene complexes for olefin metathesis, the development of longer-living and more active pre-catalysts has been the focus of numerous studies. One of the main breakthroughs in the area was the replacement of a phosphine ligand by a N-heterocyclic carbene (NHC), increasing the reactivity and stability of the corresponding complex (G-II, Fig. 1).
