Flower-like gold nanoparticles (Au-NPs) were fabricated in surfactant-PMo_(12) hybrid assemblies, where PMo_(12) served as a UV-switchable reducing agent for producing Au-NPs and the organic surfactant matrices played the role of a soft template for the formation of flower-like structure of Au-NPs.rnThe synthesis of nanoparticles (NPs) with novel morphologies and functions has attracted much attention recently, and relies on suitable reducing reagents and reaction systems. Recently, well-defined metal-oxide clusters, polyoxometalates (POMs), have been employed for NPs synthesis as a bifunctional reagent with both reducing and stabilizing abilities.
