This communication demonstrates that the SiC coated glassy carbon electrode resolved the overlapping voltammetric responses of ascorbic acid (AA), dopamine (DA), and uric acid (UA), which could be used for selective determination of DA in the presence of AA and UA. Dopamine (DA) is a neurotransmitter for message transfer in the central nervous system. Abnormal levels of DA are the symptoms of some neurodegenerative diseases like Alzheimer's and Parkinson's.1'2 Therefore, the determination of DA is important for investigating its physiological functions and diagnosing nervous diseases.
