N_2 coordination

摘要

The impact of the report by Allen and Senoff in 1965 on the serendipitous discovery of the first complex with coordinated dinitrogen, [Ru(NH_3)_5N_2]~(2+), is discussed in the context of what was known beforehand and the impact this work had on coordination chemistry.
