A highlight of the conference was the award of the EPS-AG prizes, which were announced earlier this year (CERN Courier July/August 2011 p44). Shin-lchi Kurokawa of KEK, Yasushige Yano of RIKEN and Rogelio Tomas Garcia of CERN were presented their awards by the chair of the Prizes Selection Committee, Christopher Prior.In addition the EPS-AG awarded a prize for a student registered for a PhD or diploma in accelerator physics or engineering or a trainee accelerator physicist or engineer in the educational phase of their professional career, for the quality of work and promise for the future.
