摘要

The strength of polycrystalline gypsum varies as a function of porosity and of the order or intergrowths of the crystallites. In the study described in this article, various dihydrate gypsums were recrystallized in pure aqueous solutions and in the presence of additives. Texture studies indicated that the crystallite arrangements of the products prepared in this way are equivalent to those of gypsums set from β-hemihydrate. The degree of ideality, which is dependent on the nature and quantity of the additives, obviously correlates with the porosity and hardness of the samples. This method may indicate new routes for the production of gypsum board.
