Favourable development of the German limestone and lime market

Dr. Matthias Stein , the president of the Federal German Association of the Lime Industry (BVK), summarized the economic situation of the lime industry in 2006 during the annual general meeting, which took place in Wiesbaden on 22nd June 2007. “Our members sold nearly 6.8 million tons of lime products which means a growth of almost 4 %.” This is mainly due to the still positive development of the iron and steel industry. For the first time since eleven years the sales to the building materials industry also developed positively.
