RHI AG extends production capacities in China

RHI AG increases its production capacity in China by more than 20 % to 270 000 t. In late September, a third tunnel kiln was successfully commissioned at the Dalian plant (Fig.). RHIrninvested roughly 13 million €, thus continuing its growth strategy in the BRIC countries. "With this capacity extension we are strengthening our position in the cement, glass, non-ferrous metals and steel segments. We are cutting delivery times and increasing flexibility in production," explained Manfred Hodl, COO of the Industrial Division. At its plants in Dalian and Bayuquan, RHI produces fired basic bricks, basic mixes, isostatically pressed products as well as magnesia carbon bricks and prefab components. Both plants are supplied with raw materials from RHI's Aoding site to a considerable extent. Apart from the 156-m-long tunnel kiln, the new plantrnin Dalian comprises crushers, mixers, two presses, packaging plants and warehouses. The tunnel kiln was completed two months ahead of schedule and is equipped with specially developed heat management. The entire plant was internally planned and built by an RHI team of about 100 people. Rund 13 Mio. € investierte RHI dafür und setzt damit seine Wachstumsstrategie in den BRIC-L?n-dern fort. ?Mit dieser Kapazit?tserweiterung verst?rken wir unsere Position im Zement-, Glas-, Nichteisen- und Stahlbereich. Wir verkürzen die Lieferzeiten und erh?hen die Flexibilit?t in der Produktion", so Manfred H?dl, Divisionsvorstand Industrial. In den RHI Standorten Dalian und Bayuquan produziert RHI gebrannte basische Steine, basische Massen, isostatisch gepresste Produkte sowie Magnesia-Kohlenstoff Steine und Fertigbauteile. Beide Werke werden zu einem betr?chtlichen Teil mit Rohstoffen aus dem RHI-Standort Aodine ver-rnsorgt. Die neue Anlage in Dalian umfasst neben dem 156 m langen Tunnelofen zus?tzlich Brecher, Mischer, zwei Pressen, Verpackungsanlagen sowie Lagerhallen. Der Tunnelofen konnte zwei Monate früher als geplant fertig gestellt werden und ist mit einem speziell entwickelten W?rmemanagement ausgestattet. Die gesamte Anlage wurde von einem 100-k?pfigen RHI- Team unternehmensintern geplant und gebaut. Nach einer Testphase im Oktober werden im November die ersten Produkte ausgeliefert.
