The main business of the waste management company Otto-Ruediger Schulze, located in Neuendorf near Berlin, is the processing of alternative fuels. The company supplies more than 80000t of these fuels annually, mainly to the cement industry. The XR3000C shredder from the Austrian manufacturer Untha shredding technology is an important partner in day-to-day business. The requirements for the new acquisition of a high-performance shredding plant were clear, as plant manager Andre Rabeus explains: "Pre-shredding in its original state was able to achieve an opening of 0 to 300 mm. We were therefore looking for a device that would guarantee us an optimized shredding of the input material". The waste disposal company tested machines from several manufacturers. It was a clear decision to choose the XR3000C from Untha: "With the slow-running single-shaft shredder from Untha we achieve a much better digestion from 0 to 150 mm. This also results in a considerable reduction in wear and tear on the machines in the rest of the production line. With the XR3000C we can achieve a daily output of 400 to 450 t. Thanks to the very economical Untha Eco Power Drive, the positive balance is also reflected in energy efficiency: the recycling specialist can save around 1000 kWh of energy per day. Added to this are the low maintenance requirements and low maintenance costs. With more than 80000 t of alternative fuel per year processed in the plant, this is a clear technical and operational advantage".
