Iran plans to reach the position of the world's 3rd largest cement producer

In the coming years, Iran is aiming to reach an annual cement capacity of 115 million tonnes and along with this, the podium position of the world's third largest cement producer, after China and India, informed Vajiollah Jafari, Iran's Deputy Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade, reports the Trend quoting the ISNA News Agency. Jafari had reportedly informed that Iran was likely to reach an output of 75 million tonnes by the end of the current Iranian calendar year (19th March 2013) and planned to ramp up the cement output to 85 million tonnes by the end of its next calendar year (19th March 2014).
