Interactions between superplasticizers and cements have mostly been investigated at standard temperatures of around 20℃. This was necessary to obtain defined climate conditions for specific analyses focusing on the basic influences of the type and molecular structure of superplasticizers (e.g. [1, 2]) or further cement main constituents besides clinker such as limestone, blastfurnace slag, fly ash or calcined clay [3 to 6], Influences of deviating temperatures on the effect of superplasticizers have so far typically been determined for high-performance concrete, e.g. self-compacting concrete [7], Knowledge about temperature influences on cement-superplasticizer-interactions in normal concrete, which is by far the most used, is in light of the broad range of climatic conditions worldwide important to prevent unwanted reactions such as too fast consistency loss or subsequent plasticisation.
