Anomalous Distributions of Vasum gloublus: Discordant Records of an Endemic Gastropod in Archaeological and Modern Contexts

Data from archaeological and malacological sources provide insights into the biogeography and paleoecology of Vasum globulus Lamarck, 1816, an endemic gastropod of the Antigua-Barbuda Bank. Our analysis of collecting localities for living specimens documents a modern distribution for this taxon that is incompatible with the distribution data obtained in prehistoric Amerindian sites.
