737-300 P-to-F conversions aren’t over just yet. In March, ATSGsubsidiary PEMCO Conversions, completed the conversion of a 737-300F (29334, ex-Latin American Wings) at its MRO facility in Tampa. The aircraft was redelivered to Plane Business Leasing this month and was ferried to Bogotá, where it is now on lease to Colombian all-cargo carrier, LAS Cargo [FAT 004836-4838]. For LAS, the newly converted 737-300F is part of a fleet modernization strategy that aims to gradually replace the carrier’s six aging 727-200Fs. In 2016, the carrier also inked a deal for two 737-800 passenger-to-freighter conversions with Boeing – but no redelivery timeline was provided. In February, PEMCO told Cargo Facts there were still a handful of 737-300s suitable for conversion. The recent redelivery confirms that is the case. Bedek completes 737-700F conversion at Haite facility in Tianjin for SpiceXpress. On 18 April, Bedek redelivered a 737-700BDSF (30512, ex- Xiamen Airlines) to Spectre Air Capital, following conversion to freighter configuration at the Haite Facility in Tianjin. This is the MRO’s first 737- 700 passenger-to-freighter conversion, but not its last. In an announcement, Haite said it had already inducted a second aircraft (ex-Hainan-Airlines) earlier this year and expects to have two parallel conversion lines dedicated to 737 NG conversions at its Tianjin facility. Bedek also plans to induct a -700 for conversion at its joint venture Belinco facility in Lingyun near Yichang Sanxia Airport.
