Japan puts PayPass on mobile phone

MasterCard Worldwide, in collaboration with SoftBank Mobile, Orient, Samsung Electronics, Gemalto and Hitachi have announced plans to launch a Near Field Communication (NFC)-enabled mobile payment platform in Japan. The NFC-enabled mobile phone, which is equipped with MasterCard PayPass, will allow Japanese consumers to make payments via their mobile phones around the world.
