Last month we left Project Mini in the bodyshop at Williams Minis, with the repairs to the nearside front wing, offside door and scuttle panel complete and awaiting painting. This month we move on to cover painting plus fitting-up and submission for MoT. I'm not going to go into full detail on painting techniques here - there isn't space and in any case I do not want to repeat here what's already being covered in full detail in the paint refinishing series. I will, though, show you how we masked and generally prepared our car - the important point to stress is total cleanliness at all stages. That's not particularly easy when, as in this case, preparation and painting are being done in the same bay, but nonetheless it's important.
