OIL CHANGE BEFORE THE MoT

I read with interest the letter on page 79 (Help! March 2010) with regards to oil changes affecting the vehicle emissions. Several years ago I looked after a fleet of high mileage Ford Fiesta vans (they where all 1996 to 1999 registered) for a local security company, they all had the 1.8 normally-aspirated diesel engine.rnThe mileages varied between 100,000 right up to 300,000. After several MoT failures on emissions I was advised to try changing the oil and filter, as you say I could not see how this would affect the emissions.
