Farley's & Sathers to buy Brach's Candy Co.

Round Lake, Minn.-based Farley's & Sathers signed an intent-to-purchase agreement for Brach's Candy Co., a U.S. subsidiary of Barry Callebaut AG. Brach's, which is headquartered in Dallas and posted sales of $270 million last year, operates three manufacturing facilities in North America: Chattanooga, Tenn.; Winona, Minn.; and Vernell, Mexico. Three-quarters of its revenue comes from sugar candies and thernremainder from chocolate products.
