The project pugwash partnership between NHS Wakefield, the Yorkshire-based charity Safe Anchor Trust and British Waterways has been bringing wildlife and environmental benefits to the Calder & Hebble Navigation at Fall Ings.rnThe partnership was born out of BW's annual towpath tidy earlier this year and brought together around 150 volunteers for a range of activities from litter clearance and painting locks to graffiti removal and vegetation management.rnGenerally, Project Pugwash aims to offer stress-free water and land based activities tornfamilies and groups of all ages and abilities.rnSam Davis, health literacy manager for Wakefield Primary Care Trust which runs Pugwash, said: "Project Pugwash has been a real hit with everyone. We all get together and have a go at improving the area where we live whilst at the same time enjoying good healthy food and great company.
