Complaints against British Waterways have fallen by one fifth since last year, according to the Waterways Ombudsman.rnOmbudsman Hilary Bainbridge's annual report records a drop from 521 to 417 in total complaints (albeit with signs of a recent upward trend), but a higher proportion that had to be escalated within BW to be resolved. However, those still unsatisfied whose cases went to the Ombudsman were down from 29 to 16. Of those, four were resolved to the satisfaction of the complainants while ten were turned down, one was dropped and one wasrnfelt to be so finely balanced that Ms Bainbridge could not make a fair decision -with both sides heading for the courts.
