THE LIGHTING OF LIVERPOOL

Lanterns,firewoeks and floodlights lit up the brand new Liverpool Link Canal to mark the end of the city's year as European Capital of Culture - and the start of the year which will see the new waterway open. Work to create arnnew connection from the Leeds & Liverpool Canal via the former Central Docks and new Pier Head Canal to the South Docks Complex is entering its final stages. The first boats should cruise through the link around Easter.
