The refurbishment of waterside premises in Falkirk has uncovered a piece of lowland canal history dating back more than a century.rnThe former Co-operative building, Jubilee House, is owned by Scott McCabe and his brother, Alan. In January, with friend Stephen Matthews, they set about transforming one room into an office space for their new design and printing company.rnIn the process they uncovered a hand-painted 40ft long ceramic mural, hidden behind timber cladding for around 60 years. After seeking advice from a tile conservationist, the owners spent days carefullyrncleaning each of the 600 tiles unveiling a series of images depicting the Forth & Clyde and Union canals.rnScott said: "It was painstaking work cleaning the tiles but we're overjoyed at how well they've been preserved. When customers visit the premises the first thing they see is the mural; it's a real talking point.
