THE CALEDONIAN CROSSING

The crossing, A unique five-day flotilla event, will celebrate the vibrant and colourful 200-year history of Scotland's Caledonian Canal. Starting on 16 June, the 16 boats will make their 60-mile journey from Neptune's Staircase at Banavie in the west to Muirtown Basin, Inverness, in the east. Along the way thernevent will host a cultural feast of music, dance, story-telling and much more before arriving at its final destination in Inverness on 20 June. British Waterways Scotland director Steve Dunlop said: "The Crossing is a unique mix of activities celebrating the valued contribution the Caledonian Canal has made to the Highland communities, heritage and culture over 200 years."
