DRAINING ENGINE OIL

I am having difficulty locating the engine oil drain plug on a Lister two-cylinder engine. Is there one? If not, how do I evacuate the engine oil?rnThe manual just says'a drain plug in the back of the engine', but I am sure I have seen a very large slotted screw in the flat base of the crankcase tha twill do the job. However it's a messy job and there are better ways.
