Salter's lode lock has opened its gates for the first time since last autumn, four months later than 'planned'. Even as I write traffic is infrequent and very slow due to continuing 'hydraulic imbalance' which we are told by local staff will continue for the foreseeable future.rnLike many others who shelled out for a BW Gold Licence and want to use EA and BW routes, I have been unable to proceed through the lock for over six months, to get down to BW's routes. As I understand it, gate replacement work was due to start last October and continue for about two months; how can a two-month project overrun by four months, with impunity?
