OUR ENGINE'S GOTTHE SHAKES

Q The engine in my 50ft narrowboat has just been changed from a worn out Volvo Penta 2003 to a new Beta 28. It was supplied by Beta with flexible mounts and a gearbox. The final connection to the propshaft is by an Aquadrive unit which was reconditioned (by Aquadrive) at the same time.rnThe engine runs well but sets up an unpleasant vibration throughout the boat whenrnrunning, even in neutral, which increases as engine speed rises.rnThe installers insist that the engine and mounts have been fitted correctly. However, I have been told that the mounts can give these problems.
