There might have been a blizzard raging outside (I was so pleased I took the train), but inside the NEC at the Boat & Caravan Show there was something of a warming glow - and it wasn't coming from the salesman rather optimistically trying to sell me a barbecue. In fact, it came from the people I met and many of the exhibitors. People were there with boat-buying in mind, queues were forming to get on the boats, the hire firms were reporting good forward bookings (one almost ran out of brochures on the first day!) and people were smiling.
