There was a distinct air of change at the Birmingham Boat & Caravan Show this year - not only was the Canal Boat-sponsored Inland Waterways feature moved from the edge of Hall 1 to take centre stage, there was a feeling that cautious confidence might be returning to the waterways.rnAlthough the number of inland waterways craft on display was slightly down on last year, the show seemed busier from day one (when we went to press) despite the Birmingham blizzards outside, and there were good queues to look around the boats.
