Crash drivers caught snapping

DRIVERS ARE CAUSING up to £1 million pounds of damage to hump-back canal bridges every year, and now the Canal & River Trust has taken the unprecedented step of installing its first CCTV to catch those who cause damage. On average one bridge is hit every week, with the majority of accidents being 'hit and run' which means the Trust has been unable to recoup the cost of the damage from drivers' insurers.
