When the weather is cold and cruising is not on the cards, it's easy to find yourself suffering from/ cabin fever. If, like me, you have an energetic little dog to keep exercised then immediately there is a job to be done. But there is a limit to the number of walks Brian needs, especially if the weather is cold, damp or icy. I can, therefore, understand why some narrowboats are adorned with patchwork quilts, home made Rosies and Jims, tapestries, lace covered windows and painted canal wear. All ideal occupations for those with time on their hands.
