Would you like to take part in a survey to help the country's wildlife? Following a national report earlier this year stating that 60 percent of more than 3,000 animal and plant species have declined in the UK in the past 50 years, the Canal & River Trust has launched Great Nature Watch. The old industrial routes of canals and inland waterways have become a unique corridor for wildlife, providing essential shelter, food and breeding grounds. The habitats they provide are helping to support many of the UK's most valuable, yet threatened wildlife species such as kingfishers, butterflies and dragonflies.
