Marion Birch tells us: "When my husband and I purchased our first boat, he was hoping for an inconspicuous name so we wouldn't get noticed if we made any mistakes while out cruising but I wanted something that would make people smile. I was at a beer festival with my brother a few months later where there was a stand selling T-shirts and we both realised at the same time we had found what we were looking for when we saw a cartoon figure of a dog on a T-shirt emblazoned with the words Muttley Crew. Needless to say I bought a supply of T-shirts for our family and friends for when they crew."
