CRT launches 'hidden gems‘ phone app

TV presnter miranda krestovnikoff has officially launched Places to Visit, a free smartphone app giving details of 100 of what the Canal & River Trust describes as 'hidden gems' of the waterways. The list of 100 includes famous waterways sights such as the Bingley Five-rise locks and Standedge Tunnel; popular waterside tourist attractions including Liverpool's Albert Dock and Camden Lock Market; and quiet canalside spots like Consall Forge on the Caldon and Kintbury on the Kennet & Avon. An information sheet for each one includes information, a sketch map, and a list of things to do.
