Steeper angling to catch the sun

Great job on harnessing solar power for a leisurely cruise, the featured articles and pictures clearly show how it works (CB, September & October). Congratulations to Martin Parry. The collectors on the roof, though, need to be tilted at a steeper angle to achieve maximum benefit of the sun's energy. Most of the canals are between the latitudes of 50° and 54° north suggesting the collectors be set to about 15° less in summer and 15° more in winter, though solar power will not be much use during the latter.
