A very Grand way to reopen

Around 100 Canal supporters and local residents turned out for the reopening of the Grand Western Canal following repairs to the major breach that occurred in Nov 2012. Our pictures show Bernard Hughes, Devon County Council Chairman, narrowboat owner and veteran of IWA festivals and WRG volunteer work parties cutting the tape to declare the canal open after £3m of repairs paid for by Devon Council.
