Sir Frank Price 1922-2017

FORMER chairman of British Waterways Sir Frank Price has died aged 95. Born in a working class area of Birmingham, he left school aged 14 and soon became involved in local politics, being elected as a Labour member of Birmingham Council in 1949. Subsequently serving as Council Leader and Lord Mayor, he was involved in the city's redevelopment in the 1960s before being appointed chairman of the British Waterways Board in 1968.
