We have been in the same place in Hinckley now for months. We have access to a water point and have someone in our social bubble who can take us to the shops. So we really haven't had any good reason to move. So we have stayed here and tried to use the time as productively as possible. The days have felt very much the same, as I am sure a lot of people have experienced. We have tried to stay positive and use the time as productively as possible. I am homeschooled and I have always used the winter as a time to focus on my studies, particularly the online and more structured activities. I follow a curriculum for the majority of my subjects including maths and English. However, with history and geography, I use a more project-based approach. I like to visit historical places and research them and the relevant time in history, I have been unable to do that since lockdown and I am looking forward to resuming those visits in the summer. Every year my mum sends a report to our local authority letting them know what I have been doing and what my future plans for the next year are. Our local authority has been really supportive of my homeschooling, whilst we continuously cruise. I expect I have found lockdown slightly easier than those young people who were used to going to school. My education hasn't been affected as much and I have a good network of online friends to keep me company. One activity that has been affected is swimming but I have recently bought a recurve bow and intend to improve my archery skills!
