P.E .I. amends rules on workplace first aid

Amendments to Prince Edward Island's occupational health and safety regulations on first aid will come into force on Jan. 31, 2013, the province's Workers' Compensation Board announced. "In an ideal world, first aid would not be a necessity at work," said Workers Compensation Board chair Nancy Guptill. "But until workplace injuries are eliminated in P.E.I., we must ensure that safety risks are adequately assessed and that we are prepared to respond in an emergency."
