En mai 1943, René Morin, un jeune francophone du Nouveau-Brunswick, est mobilisé par la Loi sur la mobilisation des ressources nationales. Servant au Canada pendant plus d'un an, il traverse l'Atlantique en janvier 1945 et est tué au combat en avril. Retracer son parcours militaire nous confronte à l'impact de la Deuxième Guerre mondiale sur un individu, sur une communauté francophone hors Québec et aux tensions nationales provoquées par la mobilisation de la main-d'œuvre.%In May 1943, Rene Morin, a young francophone from New Brunswick, was recruited under the National Resources Mobilisation Act. After serving in Canada for over a year, he went overseas in January 1945 and was killed in battle in April. By retracing his experience, we reveal the effects of the Second World War on an individual, on a francophone community outside of Quebec, and we explore the national tensions generated by the mobilization laws.
