I was cruising through new papers on Biomed Central's (BMC) International Journal of Health Geographies recently and up popped an advertisement for Nytro bikes. Now Nytro is a bike wholesaler that serves the road and triathlon communities. I have not visited their site for at least five years, but do regularly visit cycling supply sites and follow the world of cycle racing. So was it a coincidence that Nytro appeared-especially for me? It led me to think about this strange interdigitization of my academic and clearly, not so, private life. First of all, how did the Nytro ad get to the BMC page?
