MSOs continue to expand their arsenal of churn-busting digital enhancements, making digital cable more compelling to customers with the added benefit of a lift to top-line growth. According to our estimates, the cable industry's footprint covered some 119 mil. homes as of Q2 '04, with digital cable available to 96% of HP. Of those digital-enabled homes, 87% can receive hi-def (HD) from their cable company, while digital video recorders (DVRs) and video on-demand (VOD) are available to 60% and 59% of homes, respectively.
