Solutions Start Here conference and exhibition showed every indication of being worthy of its history of nearly three decades even before the doors opened March 24. But still we worried. rnWith concerns about the world economic slowdown framing nearly every discussion about the show, the SATELLITE 2009 team waited apprehensively for the final counts to tally and for our guests to arrive. rnAll that anxiety disappeared when SATELLITE 2009 kicked into high gear. During the conference pre-day, the CPOs and CEOs of major satellite companies sounded a positive note, suggesting that long lead times for investment, solid business plans, long-term leases on satellite capacity, clever development of video and broadband services, and a continuing thirst for satellite-enabled capabilities have provided a measure of insulation from recessionary forces at work around the world.
