With the June 1 resignation of President Mel Kar-mazin, a cloud of uncertainty over Viacom Inc. has evaporated. The on-again, off-again feud between Chairman and CEO Sumner M. Redstone and Kar-mazin will no longer weigh down the media empire or its stock.
