Again, Google's name led all the rest when college students were asked to name their "ideal" employer. Still, there were a few new twists in the latest annual survey of more than 43,000 U.S. undergrads by pollster Universum USA. Accounting firm Ernst & Young jumped eight spots, to No. 4 (table) in the ranking of 220 companies, aided by its Web-based recruiting-particularly on Facebook. "They're branding themselves with social networking," says Universum USA CEO Claudia Tattanelli. Also in the top 10 for the first time: NASA, which had been low on the ladder. Once more, recruiting-this time on campuses-made the difference, says Tattanelli, who also notes that the Federal Reserve newly made the list (No. 49).
