Now, back to convergence. In our first item of this section, we tackled the contact center, which is widely regarded as an extremely fruitful area of development and deployment for convergence/voice over IP (VOIP) applications. But "applications," always a buzzword in convergence, also means those systems that really are intended to run directly over an IP-PBX, potentially even providing IP-telephony's raison d 'etre in a given enterprise.
