Martin Curtis's name and a photograph of an FLF Lodekka on the cover provide the reassurance that this inexpensive little publication indeed is a book about buses from someone who knows his subject, but it describes a great deal more. It also is a potted history of the aircraft, lorries, cars, trams even diesel railbuses built or operated (sometimes both) by companies founded bv Sir Georae White, who commemorated his city rather than his own name when branding such enterprises. Their trade mark was the scroll lettering of the word Bristol — actually several subtly different versions — applied to vehicles, stationery and advertising.
