Few Scottish independents providing what used to be called stage carriage services before deregulation still do so 27 years later. A glorious exception is West Coast Motors, which not only is still in business but has expanded to become one of the country's largest independents now covering a substantial chunk of the rural west, including two islands as well as having a significant presence in Glasgow, the largest city.
