Oslo rejects bus lane ban for electric cars

Authorities in the Norwegian capital Oslo have stopped short of banning electric cars from bus lanes despite reports from some operators of lengthy delays caused by a sharp increase in zero emission vehicles on city roads. Electric car use in Oslo has doubled within 12 months and a traffic survey earlier this year showed that in the morning peak up to 800 electric cars an hour were using stretches of the trunk E18 highway, with long tailbacks developing.
