Metroline Volvo B7TL VPL199 pulls up and I follow two others to board it bound for Trafalgar Square. No contest for seats at the start of this journey and I take one of the front upstairs pair. Route N5 runs in parallel with the Edgware branch of the London Underground Northern Line and its 15min weeknights and 10min weekend nights service operates when the Underground is closed, even having later-timed journeys on Sunday mornings.
