David McCracken, former SBG and Ulsterbus manager

David McCracken, the Scottish Bus Group manager who oversaw the painful merger of the group's Central and Kelvin companies in 1989, died in May. McCracken was planning manager with Ulsterbus before taking up the newly created post of planning officer with SBG, responsible for the co-ordination of planning functions with the new regional councils that came into being upon the reorganisation of Scottish local government in 1975.
