Iwas fascinated to read the article on the new Brexit double decker in the 1 April issue, but I think there are a few points that need expanding or questioning. I was most surprised to see that the diesel engine option is likely to be based on the DAF or Scania derivative of the Leyland 680, as these are European engines, something surely unacceptable in the Bus for Brexit. It would be better to persuade Ashok Leyland, via Optare, to produce its version of the 680, one of which was I understand trialled in a non-Borismaster (RM1128) some years ago.
